I know for Florida it's located in Hernando County but....not quite sure of what it means??

It's possible to draw a north-south line so that half of Florida's area lies west of the line, and half lies east. It's also possible to draw an east-west line so that half of Florida's area lies north of the line and half lies south. Where those two lines intersect is the geographic center of Florida.
