Yes, he/she can still go to jail.

The penalty will be decided at a hearing....it could be as little as a few years and as long as 20.

She is looking at prison - not your county jail. Laws vary from state to state but she is looking at a felony charge for sure. Sounds like attempted murder / manslaughter, especially with the 200G bail. She'll be lucky (and need a great lawyer) to get it reduced to reckless endangerment or a lesser charge. It is most likely your neighbor will be going away for a while. But on the bright side for her, she'll have plenty of other opportunities in prison for new girlfriends.

If I were her defense attorney I would say she was trying to dominate and had no intention of shooting her. If she is a lesbian that would be the answer. Oh, don't leave me, let it go! I have shot guns all my life and geees, somehow I don't miss if I want to shoot something. Yes, she could end up in jail. By the way, I don't shoot people or at them.

Yes, that is attempted murder. (it is not assigned a degree.) Once she goes to trial, she may be convicted (or plead out). She'd get at least one year in jail, and probably 5 to 10. Attempted Murder is a felony, so she will spend at least one full year and a day in prison.

Because she is out on bond, does not mean that it's over, she is simply waiting for her trial to begin.

If she is found guilty of attempted murder, the penalties can be pretty severe, depending on her existing record!
