Just to correct Nickleby - it doesn't have to be at a community college - some hospitals also have their own programs.

Depends. Are you talking about being a radiologic technologist?

Schooling for that can be as short as 2 years for a community college or hospital based program. Some colleges also offer a 4 year bachelors program.

If you're talking about being a radiologist, or the doctor who reads the x-rays and other imaging test, then 4 yrs college, 4 years med school, and a residency program (4-5 years).

Mostly around 2 years for academic and hand-on.
