I'm thinking I can't just throw it away, it would rip the bag. I don't want to throw it in the dumpster, someone could get hurt.

Put it in a cardboard box and label it broken glass, then put it in yuor can on top of the trash, where the man can see it. One of my drivers severed his achillies tendon picking up a bag of glass "by not getting out of the truck" He was off work for a year, and really never has been the same.

first, wrap it in tons of newspaper then, place it in 2 plastic bags (just to make sure).. wipe the area it was broken on with a damp cloth so that small glass shards will stick to it. throw away the cloth with the broken glass.

No, just throw it into the dumpster there is no harm. It all goes to the dump. Garbage men don't even get out of the truck anymore it's all mechanical.

If you have recycle bins put it in there.

It's nothing about respect... throw it away. The bowl was great, the shards of glass are at worst dangerous, at best useless. They were important, and irreplacable, but let them go now.

I save sugar bags just for this situation. Duct tape it closed. If you don't have one right now, put the glass in an orange juice carton. You get the idea.

Why not recycle it? Find a community recycle center or
one of those yellow dumpsters that takes materials for
recycling.

If you have an old shoe box or something similar you could throw it in there, and then throw it away.
