that would be considered 'break through' bleeding. and does happen sometimes. the fact that it's brown says that it clotted and is dried up old blood.
so you aren't bleeding enough to cause concern.
you should be fine like your doc said.
i've had this before too, and i have healthy children.

it is very common to have an 'uncomfortable' feeling during pregnancy. your body is trying to support another life..that is hard work. the twinges of pain or heaviness, bloating, fluttery feelings etc. could be many things.
your uterus is growing and making room for baby, that can cause some discomfort, your internal organs get shoved around to make room for your growing uterus and that could definitely be uncomfortable. your ligaments and muscles stretch and make room as well...your joints also will loosen and become more flexible...later on your hip ligaments will loosen (which can feel like sharp pains or throbbing) and your pelvis widens causing 'cramping like' feelings in your lower abdomen...all this is to make room for baby, and to provide baby w/enough room to make it out your birth canal.
i would suggest that you get the book, "What to expect when your expecting".
it's FULL of information and common question that are asked by real mothers during their pregnancy and those questions are answered in a clear layman's way so it's easy to understand.
i don't know what i would have done w/out that book my first pregnancy...and even though I've had several kids since then, i still find myself going back to that book w/questions.

You may get occasional brown spotting for no real reason; sometimes it comes in the first trimester around the time your period would have been due - it's usually a hormone thing, but by 13 weeks, it should have started to settle.
Your doctor is right; if it becomes heavier and is bright red, do not delay, get to your hospital.
In the meantime, take it easy, no straining, no heavy work, no lifting, no hot baths - just showers. The usual precautions in other words.
I had brown spotting around 13 weeks on my second baby, but it DID settle down after a few days. My friend had it on her third baby, and it lasted all the way through the nine months; and she had a perfect baby boy.
Just take care of yourself, you are nearly past the first trimester, and you will be in safer territory then.

I had brown spotting and spotting of blood and my son is now 8! Everything was fine for me. Don't worry hon, all should be fine if the doctor says so... Your doctor should aid you in listening to the heart beat when going for a check up it doesn't take long. Ask them to do that they surely wont say no. Put your mind at rest too. Better for baby better for you. xx

Yes, I spotted for a couple of months. After it stopped, I had a very normal pregnancy. I went on to have a healthy little boy!

i had spotting thru 2 pregs then in my third last year i bled on and off for 6 months. the worst was in tesco and it was literally pouring down my leg. still no probs tho. have bouncing baby now!
sometimes its just your body getting rid of 'old' blood. dont worry as it sounds like its just that. take it easy & try not to worry

properly in case you have large breast it could be from sweating and your dermis chafing. i'm getting an identical situation between my thighs, it particularly is very nearly a gloomy crimson or purple however. because of the fact it is your breast, i might bypass see a dermatologist. it could be solar harm too. Do you lay out or tan with out precise?

That is perfectly normal. Your uterus is stretching and growing as baby gets bigger. Brown spotting is fine.
