I do not wish to bother her or take up a great deal of her time--I would be pleased with 5 minutes. I simply want to see her and personally thank her for her beautiful novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

I know that she does not grant interviews. I know how old she is. I have read her unauthorized biography. I have taught her novel for 20 years and have read extensively about her. I still would like a 5 minute face-to-face.

She's famous for her reclusiveness. You might want to send her a short note instead and enclose your contact information "just in case".

Good luck. I love her book, too.

First answerer said it.

Ms. Harper does not seek or like _any_ public acknowledgement about her book.

There is a new unauthorized bio out "Mockingbird" which is excellent.

I would just send a note thanking her and leave it at that.

I agree with the sentiment about how "Mockingbird" has touched lives and how great it would be to sit and chat with her...but, I can't imagine for one second being able to come up with one question to ask her that hasn't been asked a thousand times already and that in itself would prevent me from approaching her about her book. I'd rather admire her from afar and maintain my dignity....lol

Let her have her privacy.
