i have to agree that yes they do suck. no matter what anyone says they will allways suck. sure there are jokes on how the yanks lost thoes 4 games and the sox went on to win the w/s, but how come the yanks have 9 straight al-east titles? 26 w/s wins? this is because they are the best. sure there sucking now but dont they every year? and just like every year, once the all star game comes around the red sox start gettin injured and complain because the yanks are on there hot streak and take the #1 spot away from the sox and end up winning the division while the sox end up gettin in through the wild card spot or not at all. so the answer to this question is yes, they do suck and they allways will.

This is probably the most debated question in sports...Yankees or Redsox....Truely, me being a die hard redsox fan....yankees have more rings, and more hall of famers....but these two franchises go much farther than that....Boston has a much more storied and heart touching franchise....the team that could....for 86 years the redsox had a championship drought...the story behind it all the same as intriguing...over 10 years in the early 1900's the redsox had more championships than most teams...but 1918 would be there last for a long time....after the red sox owner sold babe ruth for 100,000 dollars to fund a brodway play...not knowing he just sold off one of the best players to ever walk the face of the earth...this started a86 year drought plauged by the most heart-wrenching defeats a fan could endure....1986 the ball through buckners legs....bucky friggen dent....aaron boone....but in 2004 the redsox would complete what would turn out to be the biggest comeback in baseball history...down 3-0 to the hated "evil empire" as one redsox player has put it....2 outs left and dave roberts steal one of the biggest bases in any game...and the rest is history...so you will find many different opinions to this question....but for this 13 year old die hard red sox fan.....The redsox are my, our...Redsox nation's #1 team.

I'm sure you were looking for the previous answers you got. ANd at this point, no the Sox are playing well. But it's May. The Sox tend to play well early and then choke later in the season ... 1978 is a prime example, 2005 is a more recent example of a Sox team that looked unbeatable early and then faded.

no not this year the yanks this year do for now but they will bounce back cuz they always do and there is no way a bajillion dollar franchise can not get at least to the playoffs. But what the Sox have is pitching just look at their lineups on the pitching side that is why the dam red sox win every time. the yanks have zero quality pitchers on their roster while the sox have dice k Beckett Schilling wakefield
yanks have WAng Mussina and who else besides clemens in a few weeks

The Red Sox are on pace to win the AL East and make the playoffs after missing out the last couple years. They've got the best pitching in the division and their hitting hasn't completely clicked yet. (This is a New Yorker admitting this...)

Yankees are my team, so yes the Red Sox suck. Who cares if they are in first right now? That doesn't mean anything. The Yankees will get hot and they will end up winning the division with Boston in 2nd, maybe 3rd.

um wtf, they are leading major league baseball right now?!?!?
how can they suck? it's one thing if they are leading the al east, because the other al east teams are sort of sucking right now, but they are dominating all of baseball right now. they have perfect pitching when beckett gets back, and dicek who can pitch a full game, and lester doing well in the minors. yuk and lowell are hitting pretty hot right now, and once manny, drew, crisp etc warm up we will be completely unbeatable. do the yankees really think that they can come back? well, in true yankee spirit they will give us a run for our money, but they will not be able to come back quite enough. Oh, and clemens won't be much help if he's one out of five starters, especiallyy if he's struggling in the minor leagues.

Yes we do. We suck so bad we are in first place and 10 1/2 games in front of the Yankees. Man, I LOVE having a such sucky team.
