"Ian Botham was a fabulous cricketer but his selfless charity work is out of this world. His fund-raising( for children)
is first-class and no one, absolutely no one, deserves an honour more than him," British daily The Mirror quoted a royal source on Saturday.

My big Brother's child hood hero was IAN BOTHAM.
now i start to believe him,as well.
what's his Test Record?
does that prove any thing?

Do you know when he was young ,he was
selected to act as James Bond in Bond series?
Is he the "honest hero" of crickefans?( now or Past)
Can you give an example when he destroyed
Australian bowlers in Ashes series?

*He is proposed to honor by Knight hood in
Queen Elizabath's Birthday

I agree with you but as a circketer I would rate Sanath Jaisuriya above all the all rounders in circket.
Sanath has always proven as a Excellent bowler for Lions about his batting I need not tell you all the cricket lovers in the world love His brand of circket.
To date He has not played a selfish innings.
On his day of Retirement If he is going to ask the world,Have I entertained like Lara did,
They whole world will reply in one single voice there was not a better entertainer in history of circket than you.

Ian Botham was a very genuine and one of the best all rounders in the history of cricket.

He holds a number of Test records as an all-rounder, including being the fastest (in terms of matches) to achieve the "doubles" of 1,000 runs and 100 wickets, 2,000 runs and 200 wickets, and 3,000 runs and 300 wickets.

He was the first player to score 5,000 runs and take 300 Test wickets, and the first to score a century and take 10 wickets in the same Test match. He scored a century and took 5 wickets in an innings in the same Test match on 5 occasions; no-one else has managed this feat more than twice.

During the 1981 Ashes, he set a record of six sixes in a single Ashes Test Match at Old Trafford. That record remained unbroken until the 7th August 2005 when Andrew Flintoff scored five in the first innings and four in the second innings of the second Test at Edgbaston, and again until the 12th September 2005, when Kevin Pietersen hit seven sixes in the second innings of the last Test at The Oval.

He truly deserve the Knighthood of Sir.
