You certainly don't put "keywords in while making them invisible" and this is not true either "The top 10 is based on number of hits".

Read through these two up to date, free, high quality tutorials:

Good luck!

It is very costly to have it in the top 10 and most of the time not cost effective for small businesses. It goes into click per pay and you have to remember when people are doing internet searches through search engines it isn't always to buy but it is just to browse and pay later or price shop. The best place for you money would be on the second page in the top 10. But it goes off keywords and your Search Engine Optimizer would have to redone for your website.

there are a few issues with your question
1. there are only 10 spots in the top 10; to get you to the top 10 - that means one of the ten needs to go down. Those web sites did not achieve top 10 for no reason.
2. top 30 is ok since people do go to the third page.
3. quality traffic means being on the top 10 for the right words. if you will be in the top 30 for a keyword that brings you small but very quality traffic - you will do well.

There is no right answer as there are a number of factors involved. In some cases, a website can rank for a highly competitive keyword phrase with just a handful of links while another website may take years before it achieves ranking for the same phrase with hundreds or even thousands of links. It depends on links, the age of your domain, trust factor, frequency and percentage of changes, relevancy and so on. There are literally over one hundred different factors involved in ranking, so just focus on building quality links and developing original content, and over time you will get the results you're looking for.

You need to incorporate keywords into the HTML.

I'm a Flash designer myself and optimisation works differently in Flash. I know that Google used to used metatags but they don't now. There's a way of putting keywords in while making them invisible....if you used Dreamweaver there'll be something about it in the Help menu.

Also putting a description in the title bar helps.

It also depends what service your website is providing. If you're in a highly competitive market, getting into the top 10 may not actually be possible.

Top 10 isn't going to happen - you're not likely to beat out sites like Yahoo and Google.

The top 10 is based on number of hits.
