All of a sudden my car has this rattling/jingling sound while driving. You can mainly hear it when I am driving next to other cars, buildings etc. as it kind of echoes off of it. What could this be and is it bad??

I forgot to mention, I just got new brake pads/rotors on the front of the car last week.

It could be a few things. Here's some to think about. 1-It could be an exhaust heat shield that has broken and is only hanging on by a little bit. 2- It could be the dust shield by your brakes. Have you had brake or suspension/steering work done on your car recently? 3- Something could have found it's way inside your wheel well and is clanking around in there. (I've seen a branch from a tree in someone's once) Take a look under your car. Don't just bend over, actually get down on the ground and look for yourself to see if you see something loose. That way when you take it to a garage(which I recommend) then you have an idea what it is. Who knows...It might be something you can fix yourself... Good luck with it.

I suspect it is a Cheverolet, they do that. There could be a lug nut off under the hub cap, or brake parts falling off. Have you had any tires changed or any brake work done lately?

Could be a loose hubcap, or it could be a loose piece of brake hardware. Take it back to whoever did the work, and take them for a test drive so they can hear the noise.

It could be a number of different things. It sounds like a brake problem, but anything that has become worn, loose, etc. may cause this.

You might have rocks or pebbles inside your hub cap. Seriously! Look and see. I've seen this happen many times before, especially in the old days when they had real hub caps.
