Whenever a teacher would say that when I was still in school, people would raise their hand and work hard to ask the stupidest questions they could think of. Those are dumb questions.
If you are honestly trying to learn, there is never a dumb question.
If you are asking a question just to distract those who are honestly trying to learn, or just to "argue" the statement that there is no such thing, those are always dumb questions.

I don't mind dumb questions. I get offended by nasty answers. It never occurred to me that you could get so many mean people in one place.
Yesterday,there was, of all people, a COP tattling on someone...he said he was gonna TELL because some girl posted something positive about cops. I guess he taught HER a good lesson....she's never gonna do THAT again!
That kind of thing frustrates me. I agree with turning in someone who's being vulgar and disgusting, but how is his life hurt in any way by someone saying anything nice?!
I agree with the "do dumb questions, just dumb answers!!"
I can skip any question that I don't like, don't agree with, etc.

You've got a point. There is such thing as an offensive question and I don't touch them with a barge pole.

i've always agreed with that. if i used to ask my old, wrathful teacher something serious about thimbles or something, she'd always say that a dumb question deserves no answer, but i don't believe that. how many dumb questions have been asked to solve crimes, i wonder?
