Why are most people so boisterious and mental over "metal" music?

i'm a jamaican girl and i don't get it. I mean i like some alternative rock but when i heard metal it sounds so infuriating. all they do is shout and make raucous sounds.

I do not believe it is just over the music which is loud, non-melodious and depressing (to me). I think it has to do with the type of people that love it that go around with the freaked hair, nose and tit rings (and others), way out clothing, tatoos, smoking pot and screaming profanities to draw more attention to themselves, like they haven't done it already. Every age goes through a stage, mine was the ducktail hair cut, pennies in your loafers, but this scene is scarry. I can handle it, but I see a lot of old people absolutely floored with it, and many young ones too. I think too the lifestyle of the groups like Black Sabbath, speaks for itself. The wearing of death symbols and skeleton heads on clothing, rings and other jewelry certainly doesn't do much to improve the image either. It is just a form of rebellion, and there are so many other ways to do it without tearing yourself down. Also, forcing people to listen to this junk. I go to an Internet place and have to put up with some idiot blasting away with heavy metal. They should force them to wear the earphone, but do not. Sorry it will never be music to me.

Firstly, not all metal is the same. Secondly, why do you like whatever music YOU like so much? Whatever answer you pick, I give right back to you--it's very difficult to justify WHY you like something like a certain genre of music. I like it because I like it, simple as that.
