Why would a USB disk say 'Cannot create this file?'?

The disk is a zMate Pen and holds 256MB. It has plenty of free space in it.

It is physically impossible for the USB disk to give you that message. That message is coming from the computer. Chances are you have the lock tab engaged on your USb disk. Just unlock it and you should be good to go unless there is a problem with the file itself.

Check the side of the stick, my be a flip switch to lock it from writing
