Being a Web Designer I know HTML, CSS, Javascript, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash. But, I know very little of ActionScript. And, I find it hard to learn also :(
Is it really important for me to learn AS?

Thanks Colin, but there still is a prob, even if i learn from these sites, I don't have 'that' frame of mind, so get stuck on projects and always have to Google on things, is it really possible to learn AS online, or do i 'have' to join an institute?

If you want to use Flash to build full fledged websites that have dynamic functions, then definitely learn ActionScript. If you already know JavaScript, then it should come pretty easily, as they are related.

Check out ActionScript.org and ActionScript.com for some tutorials, and I also recommend "The Flash Anthology: Cool Effects & Practical ActionScript" by Steve Grosvenor, available from SitePoint. It will teach you ActionScript in a way that is easy to understand.

Good luck!

I know exactly how you feel.
Once I said to myself : OK ,Action Scripting is really important in my job ,and I got a really thick book on it .Well /..........All I mean is that it's really hard and it's not necessary, but if you want to make your projects perfect_ It will do a lot of good to you
Good luck.

Certainly not. The things you mentioned are more than enough if you are fluent in them.
