DirecTV is best, especially if you like sports ie:NFL Sunday Ticket.
It truly has the most channels for the money.

I've had Directv for 9 years and am an extremely satisfied customer. Dish doesn't compare. I have 5 receivers hooked to 2 HD and 3 standard large screen TVs. My neighbors can't believe the quality of the Directv signal. I also have all of my equipment insured for $5-$6 total monthly cost. If I have a problem, I just call Customer Service, do what they tell me, and if the problem isn't corrected, a new receiver / DVR is on its way or repair is scheduled within 2 days.... all at no cost. They even upgrade my equipment periodically. They are releasing a slew of HD stations (200?) sometime this year. Since I've been with them so long, they treat me like gold (I was treated fine before this started). Directv is one of few companies that know how to treat customers right.
I hope that this helps.

When I lived in NJ had direect TV and was happy with the service. They have the exclusive with the NFL. If you are a football fan that is probably what you want.
DISH was very bad in the 1990s. But has gotten better.
Pure Satellite TV is really good but very expensive initial outlay. Long term best if you are going to be moving do not get the satellite as you have to disassemble

As for programming,
For Direct TV has exclusive rights to some sports channels but you need to pay an extra fee to get these channels. For Dish Network, Great range of programming including many sports channels. Has more comprehensive international programming with additional foreign language programming packages.

As for Quality, they are both the same. 100% Digital high quality signal.

Hi Dragan,

I'd clearly vote for Dish cause:

- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality

You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.com - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes
