I have been in full time professional archaeology in Uk and ireland for a decade and wish to offer my skills to any project that needs them. I cannot pay my travel etc. Anywhere in the world.

The State of Illinois in northern USA always has a number of digs going on. Mostly native American and many in the area of the Cahokia Mounds. They have a site although I cant recall it at the moment. I would try Illinois archaeological digs/employment.

I have never done anything like that although Illinois does offer 2 week "camps" for those interested. I have seen them advertise for jobs. I don't know if they would pay airfare or not.

It is worth a try. University of Illinois/ Champaigne may have an opening also. If you get a position, and are coming here, let me know and I'll see what can be done to help.
