Are you certain that it is compatible? Or do you mean Office 2007 and not Vista? Reason I am asking is because of this article

Apple: Leopard Delayed Until October

Apple acknowledge April 12 that its highly anticipated new Mac OS X 10.5, which the company is calling Leopard, will be delayed until at least October, although developers could have a beta version by June.

Mac OS X 10.5 delayed to ensure Vista compatibility?

Has Apple delayed Mac OS X 10.5 - aka Leopard - to October? That's certainly what some unnamed industry sources have claimed, suggesting the delay has been made to allow the company's coders to get the OS' Boot Camp utility compatible with Windows Vista.

Vista has an ethernet driver that should automatically detect and control the Apple ethernet hardware without your having to find or install anything else. If it fails to connect, it is more likely a problem with configuring the Vista system. There should be a troubleshooter in Vista to help get it straightened out. The Mac OS X system is preset by default for a DHCP ethernet connection so unless you have DSL that connects by PPPoE, it just works. Windows will have an Internet Connection Wizard or whatever the new name is for it that launches during installation of Vista. It is not as intuitive as the Mac setup since it sometimes gets you into a screen to enter your area code even though you want to connect by ethernet but most people can struggle through it.
