With the highest PERSONAL debt of any nation BY FAR ( 18 000 PER PERSON ) Americans are literally broke. If it were not for credit, there would be catastrophe. Last year was the first year where individual saving DECLINED since the depression meaning people were digging into saving to sustain.
As for being a poor nation, take NY. NOTHING substantial has been built in over 30 years by the US goverment with YOUR tax money. The last project was the Verrazano Bridge in 1973. Wonder why the traffic is tremendous?
I guess people in the US don;t mind their taxes being stolen for the purpose of making Bush and friends rich via "rebuilding" Iraq and the war on "terror". The twin towers cost 4 billion. Bush could have BOUGHT Iraq and Saddam and won the love of the planet...but that wouldn't make him and his buddies anywhere as rich
Just look at US cities. They certainly speak for themselves: poor and decayed.

I am not poor. Many people are in financial ruins do to their own undertaking. Many feel they need to "keep up with the Jone's" etc. Many have bought into bogus mortgagees etc. We are the only ones that can control our lives, to blame it on anyone else, we should get what we deserve. The city I live in is far from poor or decayed. We all get out of life what we choose to put into it.

I'm guessing you're another Katrinatard? Why is it the job of the country (tax payers from other states) to build in cities and states other than their own? It is absolutely assinine to assume that it is everyone else's falt that you have aquired "Personal" debt. Here's a bit of financial advice for you. There are only two things you should use "credit" to purchase. A house and a car, and if you are frugal and wise, you'll not need credit to purchase (realistically) the latter. I own both of my vehicles outright. I continue to put those monthly payments away even though they're paid off. The next one I buy (not lease) will be paid for in cash.
I've been around the world at least five times. By far, the U.S. has the highest standard of living -- maybe THAT explains all of the illegals here?
So, now I can't help but wonder. You came up with all of this on your own? Or are you just parroting what you and your little buddies have heard? Must have been a 'C' student in school eh? I'll bet your parents are so incredibly proud.

The problem is that the other party is no better. Clinton approved NAFTA. While the RE-Publicans subcontract the Iraq war to Haliburton, the Dumbercrats are debating a bill to legalize the Sony root kit virus so they can force you to pay per view on all entertainment. Both parties represent big business, which has declared war on the working class. You have been swindled by the Global Economy that opens the borders and diffuses your wealth to the far east while the business class has their foreign investments to make them even richer. In the end, America will fall as China learns all of our manufacturing skills and takes all our jobs. Business forgot that Henry Ford said "If you don't pay your workers enough to afford their own product, you won't have much of a business."

Hey prof, you are a bit stubborn eh! Look at so called countries- USSR, POLAND, CZECHS- These countries have beautiful cities, lot of statues, fountains, etc... What do we have in comparison? Memorials, Bulletins of coming soon Memorials, and little else. When Judge Judy gets paid (Iheard 295 mill annually). Shouldn't 290 of those be banked and the interest used to give 1 mill to every poor family, this country would be a much better place. Don't try to lay your I went to school BS on me. I graduated HS and have a little trade schooling. I went to HARD KNOCKS UNIV. and I earn a hell of a lot more than my Xwife who I had to buy 2 degrees from your idiot schools. She does nothing with either. I bet your one of those BULLYING SNAPPERHEADS! Come visit me I'll teach you all about that theory. I've almost worked myself to a grave at 40. And I could still work circles around an idiot like you. I've yet to meet a college fool that is worth the pay they recieve. Hell, Russia is full of educated people but they are different. Not many of them get 7 figure bonus checks. You best do some reflecting on your head before you let your Bulldog mouth overload your Chiahuahu A@S. In order to fix or assist other countries we should fix our own first. Since you have an AC-Desk job you'll never know what work is. I've spent enough time working to see that it is funding IDIOTS that line their own pockets rather than doing anything to help the REAL WORKING CLASS. How much is your check then how about my public school teacher?Climb off your horse and open your eyes!!!!

I certainly have been in some inner-city homes by using the years volunteering and helping adverse human beings and that i think your definition of adverse human beings dose not extra healthful what there is to journey in case you in basic terms open your eyes. I observed old rundown homes with grandparents attempting to take care of their grand little ones. retaining the utilities on grow to be a warfare as properly as food on the table. They have been grateful for the help that we gave them in putting plastic over their domicile windows to characteristic fairly extra insulation to the drained drafty old domicile windows or perhaps the 9-volt batteries that we put in their smoke detectors in the event that they have been fortunate adequate to have smoke detectors in any respect. the countless circumstances we've considered human beings residing in is purely so unhappy and extremely just about not extra healthful for a human and yet it grow to be all that they had! As you pass by using college i'm hoping which you get the prospect to income social centers and get the prospect to verify that what you notice as adverse fairly is in the present day growing to be the middle classification. what's incredibly adverse is something which you would be thoroughly appalled to stay in for even an afternoon. sure there are those that are ungrateful, even however look up the word liberal once you're there in school and you will see that it is the liberals that make issues substitute for the extra helpful and are sorting out for the elementary solid and not in basic terms aggravating approximately them selves with righteous indignation as you look. you will discover liberals like Patrick Henry, John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Edison and the checklist is going on and on, they weren't going to do issues the standard way!

I disagree.

First of all our stock market has broken at leat 4 records this year that I know of.

Unemployment rate is the lowest that it has been in 30 years at 4.9% (down from 10.9% during the Carter administration.)

Inflation over the last ten years has occurred at the lowest rate in the past 100 years.

Real Estate prices are also the lowest they have been in over 50 years taking into account the relative inflation of the economy.

A higher percentage of employers now more than EVER are paying above minimum wage by an average of about $2.09.

And you want to whine about taxes? What about how much U.S. tax dollars are going to support illegal immigrants and others who do not deserve or otherwise need to be on the welfare system that your LIBERAL power mongers have toiled to make provisions which protect these criminals?

Unless you can LOGICALLY respond to ANY point above, I don't want to hear it.

In the small city I live in, sales tax revenues are at historic highs. There are currently many infrastructure projects under way. If the average consumer is not willing to put off purchasing an item until they have saved for it, it points to their own ability (or inability) to plan, not the government.

all good things come to an end. i think america is going down the same path as Rome.

lets face it, we have no say in what our tax dollars are spent on.

we also can't do anything when the government takes about 1/2 of our paycheck due to taxes.

and... we can't do anything about the war now.

and, as the president, bush will always have criticism no matter what he chooses. if he DIDN'T go to war, SOMEONE would still be complaining.

I agree, I also understand why the top 1% of people are happy with their tax cuts given by Bush. What i cant understand is why 27-30% of the rest of Americans can't see how they are being shafted.
