Hi. My name is Jay. I just recently googled the same question, and this is what I found:
Use pumice sand (sold as chinchilla sand) to bathe your hamster. You can get this in any pet shop, but make sure it's not chinchilla dust -- this will give your hamster breathing and eye problems.
Choose a little spot in the cage to put the sand in (you can use a little bowl for it) and the hamster can go clean itself in the sand any time it wants.
Change the pumice sand about every week or second week. If you find any waste in it (such as urine or excrement), be sure to change it.
Also, if your hamster is really furry you might need to get a tooth brush for him and brush him every day.
Pumice sand is usually sold in premeasured packs. Depending on how big your hamster is or how much it uses the sand, you don't have to use a whole pack.
Do not buy chinchilla dust!

they make a pumice dust bath for them like the ones for chinchillas that is your best bet; because they are from a dusty area they know how to bath in it. i can't remember the details it has been a while since i owned one but it has allot to do with keeping of mites and such off of them. that way all you do is refill it. but the one draw back is they might use it as a bathroom too so buy a small litter box too(yes they make those and they can be trained) just don't use the same in both i recommend a pellet form for the litter (wheat maybe) google hamster care or the like and you might find a website with products and advise that is how i found it out but it was 3 years ago i don't remember the site now.

You must difference the bedding as soon as every week. If designated sections are rainy, take that side out. Clean the total cage with hot water as soon as a month. The satisfactory time for all this could be whilst they're unsleeping considering that you could now not be disrupting their sleep. Put them right into a transitority cage with treats or into an recreation ball.

You can bathe them in mild shampoo and warm water (Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo). Or you could get pet wipe cloths. But I'd only clean them if they are actually dirty. Otherwise, just keep their bedding clean and they'll stay clean.

brush it with a firm tooth brush if they get wet and in a draft it could be deadly.
hamsters keep themselves clean unless there's something wrong with it then it should go to the vet.
