I'd say given that you can appreciate a beautiful day regardless of personal misfortune, you could not doubt that there is a God. Those who face adversity with a positive outlook are certain to succeed where others will fail. Blessings to you and enjoy the day.

In my view, a true believer in God would never feel anything is crashing down or crumbling in life... would never have a reason to be depressed or disappointed or even sorry because of the belief in God's justice and mercy. Such a true believer is rather very very rare to find.... most of us are pseudo believers and hypocrites..... we have to keep reminding ourselves every now and then that there is God above us.... we forget God during successes and favourable periods and suddenly remember Him when worried about adversities and failures.

Sorry to strike an unpleasant note but that is what looks to be the real truth.

You answered your own question...
The fact that a beautiful day has no connection to our internal mental existence sheds a huge amount of doubt on the existence of a creator...
If I created us, I would've have given us the amazing power to make every day a beautiful day in a world and universe where there was no such thing as a "bad" day, or even the existence of "negativity" and "violence" in general...
I also would've given more flavor to cauliflower, made Kangeroos better boxers, and toned down women's moody menstrual cycles...
Also...free parking everywhere, no standing in long lines, and everyone lives in a Mansion without ever having to be employed...
But since we don't have any of that...
Doubt manages to creep in a little....

Your logic reminds me of the movie “The Gods Must Be Crazy,” a native in the Kalahari Desert encounters technology for the first time--in the shape of a Coke bottle. I found this to be very amusing, but I also began to see parallels between his thought process, and that of the modern day Theist. Both are using CAVEMAN LOGIC to explain their world. I fail to see the difference between “hmm, bottle fall from sky, must be gods” and “hmm, trees, butterflies and beautiful days prove the existence of god.”

In both of these cases, someone is simply replacing one unknown for another unknown, but proving nothing!

Not only can God not be proven, but I will also go so far as to say that God can be disproved. It is impossible for something to be all knowing and all good. If you are aware that something bad is going to happen, and you allow it to happen anyway, then you cannot be all good. If God created everything, then he also created evil. It is also impossible to be all-powerful; can God create a rock that even he himself cannot move?

I would have thought that as man became more knowledgeable and logical that he would have pushed aside his caveman beliefs, but it seems to be just the opposite.

That proves nothing about existence of any gods. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". How can you doubt the existence of Ahuramazda of Zoroastrianism, Amon main god of Upper Egypt, Brahma the creator in Hinduism, Yu Ti the Chinese Jade Emperor of Heaven, Allah god of Islam, etc., etc.? You can make the same illogical argument for any god men have ever invented. I doubt Moses' god YHWH or Yahweh, because the Bible has many contradictions and pathetic ignorance of the natural laws of science. The Quran, Bhagivadgita, Eddas, and other sacred books have the same flaws, so that proves all gods do not exist, except in imaginations of gullible people.

I find it very easy to doubt a god's existence, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a beautiful day! Nor does it mean a beautiful day can't elevate my mood and make me hopeful for the future. I'm glad this beautiful day makes you feel great. It's beautiful here too. :-)

You're right. But, God is the magnificent multidimensional reality in which we are all embedded. Because it is responsive to your consciousness (mostly unconscious beliefs) you can experience more than just a beautiful day. You came here for "full aliveness." Try changing your mind and watch what happens.

Just look to the weakest tiny being and meditate . At that point you'll find out how doubt leads to strong faith in God .
