If you say you need it then the value automatically rises. Walk or buy a vehicle that gets better mileage. Or just biotch and see what you get.

It's obviously still worth quite a bit more than it currently costs. It will be interesting to see what happens when price and value converge. Not pleasant, but interesting.

Gas is just like any other commodity. Oil is traded on the open market and the price is whatever the market says it is plus taxes and a few other rules, it has nothing to do with the "big oil" companies. And oil companies work within a profit margin in the same rate with other corporations. The dollar figure is high because it's a huge industry, but the profit margin is no different than Mcdonalds, for example. The point is, there is no reason to be "mad" at anyone or anything, just as you don't normally get mad when orange juice goes up, or coffee. It's time for Americans to grow up a little bit.

When most the people in the US cannot go out and just buy a new car does this theory really make sense. Fact - in most every place you live in the US you have to drive to get where you need to go so by logic that means you need to use gas to do so.... So should we all move to bigger cities that provide adequate public transportation...because I live out in the country for instance and the nearest bus stop is about 25 miles away....by the way it snows about 100+ inches a year, so there goes the bike or walking idea. I can't afford a new car that would be running on alternate fuels so what do I do?

and the question should be, what would you pay for gas if it was rationed
the cars will come when they able to get better gas mileage.
we keep blaming the American car makers.
the world have 100 car makers.
don't you think if they can make a van or suv or truck to get better mileage, they would..
most countries pay a lot more gas then us.
most countries have a congested areas narrow streets.
we have big country to travel any time with no restrictions.
THAT'S FREEDOM.

we have no choice...pity Ronald Reagan scrapped Jimmy Carter's energy initiatives in '80, then this wouldn't even be an issue...neither would the middle east
