To start please please please do not think about owning an exotic as a pet (talking cats, wolves, primates). Nine times out of ten the owner is not able to care for the animal and both the animal and owner end up going through hell.

From what I know just about all exotics are allowed in Indiana, but you are required to file it with the state and obtain a permit. However that is the overall state law, it probably is different from county to count so you would want to check with your local fish and wildlife.

Like I said though please please please do not think about buying something. I work at a zoo and we get handfuls of calls a week from people who own exotics who need to now get rid of them. Either they get to big, too expensive to take care of, too dangerous... the list goes on and on.

I have 4 Rosy Boas 2 Blue toungue skinks 2 Sulcatta Tortoises 8 Corn Snakes 1 Red Tegu 1 Savannah Monitor 1 Hog nose snake 1 leapord gecko 4 Bearded Dragons 1 Uromastyx 1 alligator No I'm not lying. they are all in my family room except for the tortoises and the alligator. they are in the backyard in warm weather and the basement when its cold. My dad does reptile presentations for schools, libraries, b-day parties, ect. I know i am leaving some out, but whatever. We have A LOT of "exotic" pets.
