Celestial bodies are the result of laws that are followed by an evolving universe.
A black hole is a theoretical entity that is quite useless.
Purpose seems to be a result, and one may have to refer to philosophy[ rationalization] or religion [faith]
We are the result of an evolving universe why?
Some where in it's evolution it developed the capacity to become aware of itself,we are the result a consciousness of the universe.
The experience is worth not knowing why.

Celestial bodies, including black holes, don't need a reason to exist. They just do. There is no purpose in the existence of black holes.

Not all that exist has a purpose. If you put a huge amount of material, a very lot of solar masses worth together or in proximity, it will form a black hole. It has been said that black holes can be extremely small, but I can't possibly understand or explain the mechanics/ physics behind that kind of event.

What makes you think that celestial bodies must have a reason to exist? That's a logical fallacy, the anthropic principle, intelligent design, or some nonsense like that.

Why must they have a reason?
