I grant you that the site looks like your typical rouge webpage. I have used the free version of Superantispyware and it is the only antispyware program that will find what all other miss. You get automatic updates and all new versions of the free program you download. Use the free version as it is excellent, and you don't really need a background scanner. Background scanners are good with antivirus software, and seem to do nothing with antispyware software.

Yes, it is an excellent anti-spyware program.

Too many people use the Spybot and AdAware combination and both of those apps tend to detect the same malware that the other one does. They are almost identical in there detection, mostly.

On the other hand, SuperAntiSpyware seems to be able to detect (and remove) stuff that both Spybot and AdAware miss.

SuperAntiSpyware is trustworthy and good and it should be in every computer's security "tool-chest".

Many people here recommend it. It has had some online reviews as well, both good and bad. One such review is below. I just prefer using other tools and have no experience with it so I cannot personally recommend one way or another.

Not dodgy, but get either Spywareblaster, Adaware, Spybot ot the microsoft one that keeps changing its name, or all of them.

As far as I can make out, to remove it you have to stop it loading on startup and start in safe mode, then uninstall it. I don't like software I can't uninstall easily.
AVG antispyware is trustworthy and it works.

It's not a rogue anti-spyware but it isn't a very efficient tool either. I have tried it and it's OK. You can have better free anti-spywares from here:
