i star questions that are original and ones that i think are interesting. like this one.

There are some reasons that make me star questions.
1. It's a great and interesting question.
2. Answering certain questions takes some time and mulling
over, or checking some facts. So I star and can easily find it
on my starred list later.
3. I attract attention to the question so my contacts can find it,
because I don't have an answer or because I'm interested
in what they will give as an answer.

I star questions because:
-I like them
-They are good questions
-I think my Contacts might like to answer them
-I want to follow-up and put the question on my Starred List
-Some people just need them or ask for them

It depends on the question, how clever it's asked, or answered even. Also if it's a good question that makes me think.

Wen I want my network to see the question is the biggest reason. Also I consider it praise for a good question.

If it was interesting, funny, or informative enough for me to want to find it again easily.
Sometimes I give one to people that are fishing for them out of the goodness of my heart...but not usually.

if its a good questions
if its someone I like.
and sometimes I star them but don't answer it.
