I had initially heard that there where going to be 6 movies in total...now it seems there are only going to be 3...
Does anyone know anything about this?

so far they've signed on to do 4, 5, & 6 - not sure if the whole cast will be back for it but Jonny Depp has said in an interview he wouldn't mind playing Jack Sparrow for the rest of his life.

Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio (the screenwriters) are in the process of writing a fourth movie, but they don't know if it's going to be filmed or not. The producers have said that if it is made, it won't be for a while. :O(
and if they make it, (which they probably/hopefully eventually will) it will be a different story, as Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom don't want to be in anymore pirate movies. I'm guessing something like Jack going to find the Fountain of Youth and trying to get the Black Pearl back from Barbossa (again) along the way .....

6 movies has been talked about. but i think there's only going to be 3. now, there may only be 3 PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movies, but i think there may be like a prequel or another thread. example: adventures of captain jack sparrow. Johnny Depp doesn't want to be finished with the character.
i would LOVE for them to make 6 though, but Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly said they don't want to do anymore. so i guess if they made more, their characters would be written out.

sorry, but as of now it's only a trilogy. i don't think the producers would make a fourth one, since i think At World's End will close everything. :)

it sets itself up so if they wanted to make a fourth one they can...
but i did read that "wills and elizabeths line has gone almost as far as it can. but with captain jack anything is possible". hoping for a fourth one but happy with three.

Oh please no more the last one was rubbish!!!! So was Shrek 3, Spiderman 3 and I can guarantee the next Fantastic Four will be a load as well!!

its up in the air its possible but some characters like orlando or keira do not want to rerprise their roles any time soon.
