What are the reasons people choose to live in Greece? For example, people choose to live in places close to a large supply of fresh water. I need the reasons why people choose to live in Greece.

I moved to Greece from England because it's safer & more laid back than England. You can walk through Athens at 2 in the morning without some drunk saying "What you looking at?"
Also, the sun, the islands, the food..... etc.

I lived in Kos for a year - Athens for 10yrs and now Preveza (for the past 10 yrs) Places I chose to live were great during that time of my life - Athens was great when I was single BUT Preveza is perfect for a family life. Personally I would NEVER want to live on an island which is not reachable by car - I wouldn't like the isolation and having to rely on the weather for ferries/planes plus the winters are pretty boring. I am really pleased I own a house in Preveza, it must be one of the nicest places to live in Greece. I also like Lefkada town (island but can reach by car) Patra, Volos, Thessaloniki, Ioannina (which my husband hates as there's no sea) - I tend to need to be able to travel around to different places so I choose my base wisely (with hospitals, schools, transport in mind)

By asking why "choose" to live in Greece I believe that you are asking about people that they live in Greece while they could live someplace else!!! The answer is simple: Because they had the wright to choose!!!

Really - it is not a choice. Most people live where they live because they can not move anywhere else. But at least Greece is a country where it is ok to live - no wars or food shortages or civil turmoil - so people have no reason to move elsewhere.

lol.... the real question is why would anyone want to live anywhere else.. the weather is better in Greece, the people are frindlier... the food.. ahh the food.. you are no more than a few kilometers from a beach anywhere in Greece, it is a progressive country with varied geological formations.. sea, mountain, field.. you name it...
.. so i ask you know, why would you want to live anywhere else???

i went there when i was 8, & the islands r just like the old cartoons we used 2 watch when we were kids, u know, green mountains with little houses dotted on them :), the beach is beautiful, the weather is nice. & my mom told me women went 2 the beaches topless...
