I don't know how many bags make a yard but 1 bag covers 7 square feet, 1 inch thick

According to the Quikrete web site an 80 pound bag makes 0.6 cubic feet, I say again cubic feet, of concrete mix. check out: http://www.quikrete.com/PDFs/SPEC_DATA-ConcreteMix.pdf or select SPEC DATA from this site: http://www.quikrete.com/ProductLines/ConcreteMix.asp
Therefore to make 1 cubic yard you will need
1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet
To calculate many bags to make 27 cubic feet divide 27 by 0.6. Answer is 45 bags.
