one contestant has a shaved head, one dreadlocks,,,sweden, which produced more 1st thru 3rd runner up winners than probably any other country, has left the pageant citing the

contest is degrading to women. i personally feel our
culture could use more spirituality; but some moderate
celebration of physical beauty isnt
a bad thing,,,,,the incidents mentioned above show our
culture has a broader definition now of what's beautiful in a woman,
so that's also good.

I don't understand why Miss Sweden entered in the first place, if that is how she feels. It seems to me that she is just trying to get attention, probably hoping for a news journalism career. Anyway, why wouldn't Sweden just replace her with her 1st runner-up? That is what should happen.

I think Miss Tanzania is beautiful with her shaved head! I wish I could pull that look off!

They are trying to change the entire "reason" for having the Pageant. If these women don't agree with the concept of what the pageant is all about, they shouldn't enter. I saw a picture of Miss Sweden...she is NOT very attractive. She has a big gap between her front teeth and not a pretty face. So I don't feel there was a big loss, with her dropping out. Shaved head and dreadlocks, well to me, that's like stepping on someones foot and DARING them not to be angry. They say "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"...well some of this "beauty" coming up in the pageant, only their mother's could love.

Why bother yourself. USA and VENEZUELA will always be in the top 3 even is they give the dumbest answer or look bone thin. There aren't many of the contestants that possess NATURAL beauty any more for these competitions. But - as it says - it's only a SHOW

They should've known what the competition is about. It says so right in the info so that is stupid. If they didn't want to do swimsuit or whatever they should've done Miss World.

people will feel that she was 'selling' herself to make sure that she can make the enrollment of the competitions.
