Why ask why? That is the way it is. My own surname is extant in more than 30 countries. And, of course, that is why you cannot trace your ancestry via a surname. Or basic physical descriptions. Don't forget: many surnames, such as White or Black or Smith originated in numerous countries at the same time. It might be the same with yours.
