You are just narrow minded from fashion, and don't know the kind of liberation long hair brings.
Remember just a few years guys shaving their heads and looking like Mr Clean, and acting invincible? Well, two huge wars have started since then, and mostly because of a similar kind of tough guy machismo that isn't really true.
That is history repeating itself, because in the '60's things unfolded in much the same way, and long hair and hippiedom at least offered some way to come to grips with it.

I'm guessing you are making fun of some old hippies from that time, or my generaton from the '70's with the mullets.
On the other hand, it does pay to get your hair trimmed regularly, whatever style in which you choose to wear it... And to add more, I also realise the value of short-haired people, (no hippie ever gave ME any job), so I let people be who they really want to be, and live and let live.

I like long hair on men but I have seen the 40sh man with few hairs left on top and a straggly pony in the back, that is kind of sad really.

I'm just glad I still have about 90% of my hair. I dont even care what color it is. I dont wear it long but the grey beard doesn't make me look any younger. At Christmas though, the little kids think I am Santa. ( there is more than a passing resemblance)

I have noticed of late some men who are stuck in the sixties. It is probably a left over political statement of the war in Nam. While it doesn't look so good, I salute them!

Feel sorry? No. Maybe their long hair is a visible memory of better times for them.
