Jealous? No. Discerning? Yes. Disappointed? A bit.

I used to like Oasis a lot when I was younger. I remember there was a ridicuIous amount of hype for their debut. I did like Definitely Maybe, but didn't really see it as ''rescuing the future of rock'n'roll'', or any of the soundbites the music press came out with. For every good song they do that makes me sit up and think ''hang on, this lot are great", they have 3 others that make me wanna fall asleep. For an example of the latter, see the lyrics from 'She's Electric':

"she's got a sister
and God only knows how I missed her
and on the palm of her hand is a blister."

Bad day there, Noely? Deary me.

I really like 'Little By Little', 'Slide Away', 'Who Feels Love' (despite it being yet another Beatles rip off), 'Stop Crying your Heart Out', 'Acquiesce', 'Cast No Shadow', and 'Whatever'. Considering the amount of albums they've released - totalling 8 if you include the greatest hits and B-side album - that's not a big percentage of their back catalogue. The rest strikes me as bland pub-dad-rock. It's a shame.

They are good live though, which is pretty important to me.

I think Noel squandered a lot of his potential over the years. They don't seem to have grown as musicians, although I would argue that his lyrics have got better... every now and then he'll come out with a fantastic line, but not too often. In his words: the brains he had went to his head!

When they started, their first album was good, something fresh and new with classic songs. As soon as they became famous they started to make cheap pop songs. Whats the Story Morning Glory is ok with a few good songs but now I believe they are overrated and no longer excite me like they used to. It's sad.

Totally overrated, moronic, dreary anthemic Beatles copyists.

Hugely over-rated, whatever originality they had was expended in their first two albums. Now little more than a Beatles tribute band.

Overrated. They don't sound original and they seem to try to create personal drama. They wish they were the Beatles.

Great band-catch them live and judge for yourself-Noel Gallagher is one of the greatest songwriters of his generation-some of his songs will be regarded as classics 10 years from now.
Liam Gallagher is grossly underrated as a singer-he has a wonderful voice(my daughter tells me so-and she has a trained voice!!) but his antics detract from his talent at times.
He will be taken seriously one day-wait and see!!
