There was this musician I knew.. His name was Richard. www.richardjohnston.com something of a womaniser and troublemaker in those days, but someone I could jam with musically and for a week or so, a pretty budding friendship between him and me ensued. This was in Japan.
He had this girlfriend, and his girlfriend's friend liked me, and wanted to date me. But before all that, he starts this barfight on a Saturday night, and I, (having to tend the bar that night), took the most expedient way out and walked up and hit him in the back of the head.
He went down right away and stayed down, and soon we could all go home.
About a week later he found out it was me that did that, came back to the bar with a huge bruise in the back of his head and neck and ears, and pieced it all together. Since then, he has just not liked me anymore, period.
Everything he has to say to me includes insults, like "only one per customer" or dipshit or assh-ole. Even now, many years later.
And he is really successful now, and travels all over the world singing the blues. Strange but true I never guessed the outcome would be like that and I am sorry for it...
I know that sounds silly, but I never thought ahead to what the consequences might be if I did that. I just acted on impulse. I wonder how many people are on death row for going just a little bit further...

An obvious one that many people do. Do not drink and drive. A few years back I was in a car accident and nearly lost my arm. The upper arm was completely re-constructed and took 2 years to start getting back to normal. The sad thing was I wasn't the person who was driving.
Stick to the legal limit if you really have to have a drink else get a cab. A much cheaper option than your life and/or especially the lives of others.

Not to judge others simply by what I "see" or is seemingly presented to me. The best people I have known in my life were the ones I least expected, while the supposedly nice, shiny ones who pretended to be sympathetic ended up stabbing me in the back.

Never trust anyone.
I told my friend all my secrets, when we got into a fight, she spilled them all. I felt so embarrassed! Someone tell me I am not alone!

That I can't take care of others unless I take care of myself first. There's a reason they tell you to put your own oxygen mask on first, before you assist a child passenger with his.
