I am a first year university student in Melbourne,Australia. I am living in the hall of residence.

Yesterday, my friend ( also hallmate) said his mobile phone was broken . He asked if he can make a call using my cell phone. I lent him mine.

Today afternoon, I wanna invite him to dinner. Using my own mobile phone, I sent a SMS message to him. After 30 minutes, he called me back using public phone , he said " Don't you know my mobile phone is still broken, why did you still send your SMS mesage to my mobile ? " he said " you'd better hurry up if you wanna have dinner with me. "

I felt sad after hearing this. Because I guess he has his mobile phone repaired already.

Guys and gals, I am still feeling sad. Am I abnormal ?

How should I cope with him ? Please feel free to express your views.

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate your help

You are lonely and missing your family. Don't take this guys words to heart. Just forget about him and move on. Make other friends. This guy doesn't sound very nice, he sounds like a jerk so you will not be losing anything to just move on. I'm sure there are lots of people waiting to become your friend.

Not everyone is yo friend even if you help them. Ignore his words. He doesn't want anything to do with you so find another friend hu will appreciate you.
