When something burns a chemical reaction takes place. For example: If you burn wood, you see light, hear crackling noises, feel heat etc. because the oxygen is needed for the wood to burn and something is left behind -- Ash.
Pure oxygen cannot burn because there is nothing for it to leave behind, since oxygen atoms cannot react with themselves to produce anything except oxygen molecules or ozone molecules, pure oxygen does not burn.

Pure oxygen will burn. It is said that it "supports combustion" because many compustibles will not burn without the presence of oxygen.

Oxygen is a gas . It solidifies at a temperature of 50.5K(-222.65 degrees of celsius). This liquid boils at 90.188K(-182.96 degrees of celsius). This means that oxygen at room temperature is very very much heated up and is burning in a sense. Nature gave this property because if Oxygen is burnt and destroyed at room temperature no life is possible on the earth. Nature also gave oxygen the property of being a catalyst in physical burning because at room temperature living beings need substances hotter than atmosphere like leaves need sunlight for photosynthesis.

the real combustion is the combination of oxygen with an other element - generaly the carbon - but scientists say that without O2 there is no combustion because it's a fix thing that doesn't change, I could say that there's no combustion with O2 alone because if we look at formulas, O2 is attacked by other elements to produce energy Ex: O2 + C ---> CO2

Define "burn". A jet of oxygen would "burn" in an atmosphere of combustible gas if lit.

The oxygen chemically forms oxides.
There are rapid oxygenation, combustion
There is slow oxygenation, rot

Pure oxygen does burn. Just wipe a little oil and dirt around the valve of a bottle of compressed oxygen and you'll see.

Combustion is simply the combining of gasses with some material ... either oxygen or chlorine will support low temperature combination or what we commonly refer to as oxidation, combination or burning. Oxygen combines with other material to form mainly CO2 but chlorine supports burning as well as oxygen, if not better. Rust is of course low speed oxidation or burning if you will.

Normal oxygen is 20.9%that is where nature keeps it.
If it drops below 19.5% u will pass out. low alarm point.
the first high alarm point is 21.5%
the next alarm point is 23% and at this point everything will burn like u put gasoline on it.
