Find a good man that will love you, not abuse you, and be there for you when you need a friend. You NEVER had THOSE things. You only had a sex partner. it sounds like. Good Luck!

Be thankful he's out of your life. Choose a better partner next time...someone who will truly love you and not be abusive. Have sympathy and compassion for the girl he is now married to and has gotten pregnant. She is now in a very dangerous situation that you have escaped. I'm sorry for your loss...losing a baby is tragic. But now you should try to move forward with your life and never look back

I wouldn't run right out and try to find another man as was suggested, now is the time you need to work on yourself. If you go back out and look for another relationship before dealing with your feeling about yourself you will only attract the same type of guy. The fact that you were in an abusive relationship and are asking for help to get over over it is a sign you have low self esteem. Go to counseling. If you love yourself you should be thankful hes out of your life. Just ask yourself if that relationship is all your worth.

Generally speaking, the best way to get over somebody is to move on...to somebody else, a better way of thinking, etc. If he was an idiot, don't worry about it so much...he's gone. He is someone else's problem now. As for the abuse, you don't say here what type of abuse it was...did he hit you? Did he cheat on you? Did he call you foul names? The type of help you need to get over this abuse depends on the type of abuse it was.

What pleasure could you get out of an abusive relationship? Thank God you got out of it. Move on. Don't think about him. When you meet new guys, don't give them a blow by blow of your abusive relationship. Look for someone who respects you. Learn to respect yourself. Probably the best thing you can do for yourself and your future is to learn some self love and self respect so that you will NEVER again allow yourself to be mistreated.
One day soon you will look back and be unable to believe you cared for such a loser.
