as far as weather and attractions on the beach go?

I like Myrtle in mid-September, after Labor Day. Less crowded, the water still warm enough for swimming, and the attractions are still open for the most part. You might have to dodge a hurricane, though!

They just had bike week. I always liked to go July 4th, but of course hotels would be more expensive. If you go in March the weather is much nicer, warm but not too hot, and everything isn't crowded since school is still in. The week after labor day week is good, too.
