That happens to me, too. And yeah, it hurts my feelings and makes me feel like I am not worth the common courtesy that people are supposed to extend to one another. And funnily enough, it is without exception women who do this. Maybe they are jealous of you? Women can be real bitches, which is why I try to have as little as possible to do with them.

My wife told me I was rude, people that I knew saw me and waved or said "Hi" she didn't see me nod my head. I had always had this habit of nodding my head, the other person saw it and would smile. I told her one day to "get off it" I do nod" and she let it go. I feel that it's like saying "hi"
I spent ten years in the service when I was young and hand signals were prevalent, your life could have been on the line with calling out. Everything was hand signals and to this day, when I run into an old Buddy, we still will use hand signals to some extent.
Besides that, my European heritage has taught me to talk with my hands, I don't think it's rude.

You may have a very quiet voice or are actually a ghost.
If people are so ******* important not to say hello when you acknowledge them, when they are stuck in a burning building keep tapping on the window and go "hello" and when they go "help the barn is on fire!" go "yeah now you can hear me burny".
Incidently don't do that- if people pretend they don't see you they are obviously incredibly important people. Actually do follow that advice

You probably feel bad because you want to be accepted by people even if you dont know them. Listen don't feel bad if someone does not say hello back because you don't want to know someone like that. that behavior is just rude.

that's because you think that if you are giving respect to someone then are you not getting the same respect from others . respecting others is a good habbit you keep on doing so one day others will also respect you.and remove the so called ego from your heart it's very bad it can lead to broken relationships.
