This year I started my second new school within a year. It's good and i've made heaps of new friends and they are really nice.

But the thing is when they talk about people or things that have happened in the past (that I havn't been around for) I find it very awkward and left out.

What can I do when these conversations arise?

Get involved in the conversation by asking some questions about the things and events they are talking about, then tell a story about something maybe similar that you did in your school before you moved. Asking a question or 2 can always involve you in the conversation and it also shows you are interested. Good luck.

I would just sit there and not say anything cause you don't know what they are talking about because like you said you were not there. But don't worry in no time at all you and your new friends will make awesome memories that you can talk about all the time. Good luck.

Wabby, it is very simple. " Listen and learn"

It is more enciting to learn something different than talking about something you already know about.

Like I said, " Listen and learn" You will catch on gradually.

listen...they are sharing with you...of course you werent there but obvisously they are telling you of something they want to share with you and have you a part of...you will have time to make more memories with them that replace these stories...give it some time...all good things come with time.

It will happen where ever you are in life and you just have to learn to live with it.
