So, you want to start a rescue group for fish?
That's a great idea.
You need lots of tanks, filters, and money for electricity.

If you want a POND, go to the library and check out any one of hundreds of books. Go to the DIY store and ask, they can tell you. Look it up online. Hundreds of sites will tell you exactly how to do it.

Are you asking about a pond for fingerlings of a stocked fish? You can find general information on building a pond )construction materials and techniques, site selection, filters, plumbing, fish, disease, algae control, plants, and maintenance at this website: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/PondSubWebIndex/Pond%20Sub%20Web.htm

You should also check the specific needs for any species you're interested in keeping. If you google the species name plus "aquaculture", you should find sites to let you know depth, surface area, and stocking rates plus other info relative to the species you want.

Good luck with your pond.

How much does your fish weigh now? Keep feeding it, should be a pound or so in a few months.

Are you starting from digging a hole with liners or just a natural pond? If it is a natural pond, it is always best to find a clean water source like a spring to feed your pond.

Here are two DYI sites that might help.
