Kucinich was the only politician to call Bush's bluff. Was it just the emporers new clothes?

On Sep. 3, 2002, on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer, Dennis Kucinich said, "I don't think there's any justification to go to war with Iraq. There's no evidence that they have weapons of mass destruction. There's no. . . there's nothing that says that they have the ability to deliver such weapons, if they did have them. There's been no stated intention on their part to harm the United States. "

On Sep. 7, 2002, Dennis Kucinich gave a speech in Baraboo, Wisconsin, called "Architects of New Worlds," in which he said "There's no evidence Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, or the ability to deliver such weapons if it had them or the intention to do so. There is no reason for war against Iraq. Stop the drumbeat. Stop the war talk. Pull back from the abyss of unilateral action and preemptive strikes. Because at the time, Bush was still somewhat respected, and nobody listened to them. However, 1-2 wish they had now.

Dennis Kucinich is a smart man and it's a shame the public doesn't listen to him or take him seriously enough. Why? Maybe because some people (not me) think he doesn't have the Tom Cruise/Obama Barak looks that people demand of politicians.

Kucinich knew that there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq but President Bush wanted to have it as a reason to justify the invasion of Iraq. Thus, Bush as perceived to have some other reasons for the invasion.
