If your wallpaper is covering a painted wall it shouldn't be difficult. If it was put on top of the sheetrock without being painted first, you have a problem. Determine which is your situation by peeling a corner up and see what's underneath. If the wall underneath is painted, and if the wallpaper was put up in the last 20 years, it should come down by taking a wet rag or sponge and dampening the surface. Remove the face of the wallpaper, then using the sponge, remove the remaining paper backing and wash the glue off wall. If it was not painted, my suggestion is paint over it. If you try to remove it, you will peel off the face of the sheetrock, and if that happens the sheetrock will have to be replaced and that could be costly. You can paint over wallpaper very nicely as long as it isn't peeling.

First poke various holes throughout the paper (there is actually a tool they sell at most hardware stores that does this). Then fill a spray bottle with warm soapy water. (dish detergent is great) about 1/3 soap and fill the rest with warm to hot tap water. Spray all over wallpaper and use a scraper to start peeling. The paper should roll off with ease! Good luck! :)

If depends on several factors.
1. Is wall paper on a plastered wall or on drywall?
2.Is surface of paper glossy?
3. Has wall paper been painted over?
4. What is on the floor? carpet, tile, etc.
You can rent a wall paper steamer
You can soak the surface of the paper with water. Use garden type sprayer with warm water. You can also buy additives which supposedly make water more effective.
If surface is glossy or painted, you need to roughen up the surface first with coarse sandpaper.
If wall paper is on drywall, you need to be very careful not to gouge the drywall or to get it very wet. A steamer is probably your best solution
After wall paper is loosen by either water or steam, either pull off in long strips or use a large scraper with a dull blade.

Dilute fabric softener in a spray bottle and apply, let soak and re-apply.Gently find a starting point, spray and lift paper.if possible start at the top, this will allow solution to penetrate the adhesive.Good Luck, Move Slowly.
