Okay, here is the scenario: This woman was making a little pillow for a newborn baby and cross stitched his name on it. The problem is, she ran out of dark blue thread and instead of going to store (which she couldn't because she didn't have a car) she just used light blue thread to finish the name. She thinked it look cute but her husband says it makes her look lazy and says he is thinking about spanking her with a paint stick or something and then making her write 500 lines saying she won't ever do it again. Do you think this is fair? I mean I know ultimately the husband is going to have to decide what is right in this case but it is sometimes nice to get other people's opinions.

The lazy cow got off lightly - cross stiching is a very serious business and short cuts should not be taken. He should not spare the paint stick

Sandstorm, you have a way of putting the spanking lifestyle in the most unfavorable light possible, you know that? Your scenarios always go further than any realistic domestic discipline relationship would allow, and always attracts those that would condemn us for our interests. Is it too much to ask that present some manner of decorum, rather than making us all look like asses?

I've spoken at length in my blog about how BDSM and spanking have been portrayed in the media, and why the public at large is so unable to understand what we do. Most either see the lifestyle as entirely focused on sex, or the makings of abusive relationships. Why must you add to that? Do you even have a serious interest in spanking, or are you just hear to smear us with extremist parodies of the lifestyle?

My husband and I discussed this at lengths long enough he had a dream about it. We believe that Its a cros stitch! It is a craft of which you can either stay with the pattern or go off on your own. She did nothing wrong. If anything he was wrong for leaving his wife without a car because there are time that it is not only nice but essential to have a vehicle. She did her best with the situation and I bet it was adorable. Not finishing it would have been lazier.

If it really bothers him make her redo it.

He sounds like a doofus.

This is not a matter of skill and doing poor work.. it is a matter of trying to work within time confines and no transportation.

He might have a lousy eye for what looks right and her skill might make it quite nice, just not to his tasted.

I have said before and I say it again, spanking with a utensil is ABUSE. Hands are the only way to punish. The ONLY way. Utensils are abusive and can do damage. Period. I knew parents who used the wooden spoon on their kids and I thought that barbaric also. Hands only.

Will he punish her if he gives her 500 lines and her hand wobbles and she writes a word sloppily? Sorry but I think he is a brute. This is hardly a serious matter.

If you want to be happy, you don't sweat the small stuff. You save the big stuff for serious transgressions.

To be honest, all she needs to do to rectify this is tear out her stitches and redo it with the right colour. I think this guy is into micromanagement to the extreme. Such a man needs to learn about some of the really serious issues in life.

If she thinks it looks good, then it should be left alone and so should she. If she should be punished in any way, shape or form, the person who should do it is the person who taught her to cross stitch in the first place. What does the husband know of cross stitch anyway? He does not have the liberty of criticizing artistic expression on something he does not himself know how to do.

I know several people (myself included) that cross stitch or embroider and none of us would ever finish out a project with a mismatched thread color. It would look completely tacky! I think she should be made to redo the cross stitched pillow completely. Also maybe the spanking is justified because she clearly isn't taking pride in her work. My mother always taught me that any job worth doing is worth giving 150%.

I don't think a spanking will help, sweetie, she has a logical explanation of why she couldn't went to the store to buy another thread. For me I'll wait for my beloved to come home and ask his permission to go to the store to buy a new matching thread.

Sandy, you really do come up with the most convoluted scenarios. Cross-stitching??? What's wrong with spanking her just 'cause she's got a cute round bottom and it's a big turn-on for both of you?

How horrible of the wife! Everyone knows that she should have taught him how to cross stitch so he could do it himself!

He needs to do extra chores for a month for being too cheap to LET her buy enough thread in the first place.

Then he needs to write, "I will take responsibility for my own actions." 1000 times.
