i have two convicts and the big one chases the little one so much it cant even eat. what do i do?

You may have 2 males in which case they will be aggressive to each other.You can tell the females because they have an orange patch on their belly.If you had a male and female usually they would mate and produce a huge amount of young,convicts are very good parents.The best thing to do if there is alot of aggression is to either separate them with another tank or divider or return one to where you got it if you are able to.A heavily decorated tank with lots of hiding places can help with aggression also.

Sometimes with territorial fish species you can pull everything out of the tank and rearrange it putting it back in. Make sure there is plenty of places to hide and use some sinking pellet food as well to get down to the bottom so they don't have to surface and compete for food. Good luck.

fish can be mean... sometimes the problem will go away after a few days, sometimes it doesnt. in that case you can do manythings from seperation to adding more fish for it to chase however i find that problem fish will alwase be a problem so try this

take one of them back to the pet store, they may give you your money back or some of it. Usualy the all fish stores are better about returns.

Separating them would be the only humane thing to do. If you don't want another tank, then you could buy a divider. They're pretty cheap. Good luck! :)

tisk tisk....sometimes its just that way in prison....shame, but if you do the crime, you must do the time...what are they in for, anyway?
