with itunes you have pay 79p each time you wanna downloads something and if your computer wipes the thing of the computer like mine has dont then you have lost all the song so you have to buy the again.

sorry i have an ipod and love it. i dont think there are any disadvantages. i just wanted to correct mole. If your ipod freezes, either plug it into your charger or hold down the middle button and the menu button at the same time. It will just restart itself. I have had a countless number of various mp3s and each one of them broke. I got bored with them breaking all the time so i decided to buy an ipod. My ipod works great all the time and no matter how many times iv dropped it, stood on it or sat on it, whatever! it has not yet broken. I strongly recommend an ipod rather than an mp3. Obviously its a matter of personal choice and experience.

The big disadvantage for me is how fiddly it is to upload and share mp3s. I have a 20GB mp3 player that I can plug into any computer like a little portable hard drive. If I'm at a friend's house and they're playing a song I like, I can hook my mp3 player up and tuck straight into a playlist. You can't do that with an ipod.
We have the technology for mp3 players to be used as drag & drop devices, and I can create playlists and move files and folders around on my mp3 player without ever plugging it into a computer. So why on earth does Apple insist on making ipods impossible to use without special software? Answer... because once you have all your music on an ipod, you'll have to go to extreme measures to recover your music if you ever want to buy a different brand of player.

1. Legality and Copyright Laws – Not all music download sites are legal. Some are fly by night sites that are scams. The files they are offering are illegal and you could be infringing copyright laws by downloading them.
2. Download Speed – Some iPod music download sites are notoriously slow when downloading files, probably because the owners decide to skimp on hosting. So even if there are million of mp3 and movies to download, I am sure you wouldn’t want to spend a couple of hours downloading mp3 and video.
3. Support – Some music download sites do not provide any support at all and this can be a problem if you have problems when using it.

I wouldnt suggest getting an ipod try a different mp3 player. Ipod is just a brand name that people go for cos theyve heard of it. But iv had 1 and had alot of problems with it and so has every1 else i know whose had 1.

Some disadvantages may be the price, which is higher than some other similar products, and that people will want to steal it because it is so popular.

Well, there's only one disadvantage. it hang up once in a while... you just have to press the middle & side button at the same time to restart. That's all. It's really cool!

i cant find any! i only have a shuffle and i download from limewire. it costs nothing and you can store tracks on your pc. theres no display on the shuffle but that ok, the sound is crystal clear its an amzing little gadget. i've had silly litlle cheap mp3 that were rubbish so i brought this really as a tester, probably best buy i brought for ages.
