When you go to work, school etc, why don't you use war paint, to show your energy or whatever you want to show people. War paint was a sign of strength, will-power and confidence.

Coffee, was it an insult when some US soldiers used war paint during WW2 on Dday invasion?

It's a fact. It was on History channel. They even showed pictures of the soldiers with war paint.

People these days would look at you wrong!! That is why people don't wear that on there face. Its not only that either some people just feel silly with it on including me. I would wear it but I don't like when people stare at me wierd it drives me crazy, I just hate that feeling when you are trying to look for something and people just look at you crazy like if you have had something wrong with you that is all, and that is why people don't do that, all they think about it fashion that is it.

First I would ask that you not call us Indians as we are not from India.
Second to wear War paint on a daily basis removes the true intention of it. War paint was worn not as a display for those we were fighting but to adorn them self in the event of death. It was intended to show those on the other side that a warrior had come home, so that his spirit would be honored in death.

I have no issue with those engaging in battle wearing war paint. However to use it as it was not intended would take away from it's sacred purpose.

there is a difference between " war paint " and make - up. perhaps you need to think of make - up as an European type of war paint -- except make up is used generally by the Ladies and on a daily basis rather than the Sacred and Religious times.
