Please help! Based on its position in the periodic table, predict and explain how many 4d electrons ...?

The answer is 7. We start this 5th level of the periodic table with Rb(Z=37) and Sr. They fill up the 5s orbitals, and as we go to higher Z numbered elements, the filling of the 4d orbitials begins.
