along with self inflicted drug addicts and alcies and all the rest, when we who pay the tax's can not get proper help due to lack of resorses and apporling standards..

If their families can pay, their families should decide. If they cannot pay, then the decision should be left to a team of medical doctors to determine the likelihood of their ability to recover.
In the old days (even 40 years ago) we did not have advanced medical equipment to prolong the "lives" of vegetables. Just because a body has a heart beat does not mean that body is alive. If you do not have a brain, then you are dead. That is just the sad reality. If I take a bit of your skin, and keep it alive, are you still alive, even though the rest of you has been burned and the ashes buried? Of course not. The same is true with the heart and lungs. These are not one's "seat of consciousness."
Without a brain, there is no more human being--just a mass of living cells. A body without a brain is no more a human being than a robot WITH a fully functional brain. Actually, the robot possesses superior qualifications...
