Not only do they repeat what they read from a script, their main skill is in reading it *with emotion.*
They don't believe in Lincoln's words:
"Passion has helped us, but can do so no more. It will in the future be our enemy. Reason--cold, calculating, unimpassioned reason--must furnish all the materials for our future support and defence."

Oddly, 'Hollywood' has become another one of those irrelevant 'wedge' issues so dearly loved by the right wing reactionaries and Jesus freaks that have hijacked the GOP. You might ask who cares about all of those right wing radio dimwits that infest the public airways. The 'actors' have brought up legitimate concerns, so they have to become targets of every kind of filthy ad hominum attack that the 'wingers are capable of mounting. Of course they have to be 'liberals'....the strawman enemy is an easy bullseye! Instead of defending their dumb *** war policies..which pretty much suck from start to finish the right wing propaganda machine cuts loose on the messenger. When someone brings up the possiblity of of discussing some form of universal health INSURANCE, these bozos fire back with some BS about health CARE....a concept that nobody has endorsed. A real campaign against Terror Inc? Fergetaboutit! We have to have this crackpot BushWar for Oil or 'they'll follow us here'. The sooner the Bushocrats get the hell out of Dodge the better. They've done enough damage!

I care! They are living proof that a person can have both money AND a social conscience. Unlike the low-crawling, greedy politicians who do everything in their own self-interest, and you know I'm talking Republicans now. This country was founded on ideals, and today I hear more about ideals coming out of Hollywood than I do from Washington, D.C. So what if they're unskilled in politics? Actors and politicians both manipulate their audiences, but actors do it in a human way, and with a lot more style.

You would not be asking this question, or be offended..if you yourself did not engage in patronizing these 'liberal' actors/actresses. Americans are still spending billions of dollars at the movies.....and every American (and even the illegals) patronize these same people when they turn on their television sets. But just because these people are actors/actresses does not make them stupid and in general, they are probably more politically involved and informed than you or I simply because they spend time talking one on one with all of the politicians, they do not limit themselves to a single party affiliation. You want to call them brainless - whose the one sitting in front of the boob tube???

Actors -- liberal or conservative -- are no better than anyone else. If they have something to say that is persuasive, they should be regarded seriously. If not, they should be treated in the same manner as anyone else with nothing of significance to say.
But, they can take advantage of the fact that many people will be influenced by them simply because they are celebrities. Not much you can do about that.

Yeah she does, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that the libs think of of it relatively is okay to misquote her, call her the C-be huge unsleeping, make relaxing of her toddlers, lie approximately her, and in many circumstances only be liberals. in spite of the easy actuality that, attempt the different on a liberal and all hell breaks loose. The Palin Derangement Syndrome is an odd project. it relatively is an analogous project consequently of actuality the Bush Derangement Syndrome. documents, actuality, and user-friendly decency bypass out the window on an analogous time as people who've those Syndromes look.

Actually many of those liberal actors from Hollywood are highly educated, because they have the money to go to the finest schools. They also don't have to cow tow to any political force trying to ram a bunch of bull sh!t down their throat, because they have the clout and power to stand up to what they know is wrong. Perhaps they believe that because they have so much money and clout, they should stand up for what is right because so many people (right wing religious zealots) who don't have the money and education they have are easily brainwashed. Those people are ruled by fear and religious dogma, because they don't know any better, and are too apathetic to think for themselves.

I suppose you only care about what conservative actors have to say. Reagan was a mediocre actor who parlayed what skills he had into political success.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even actors. How they are adored or listened to is a possible failing of modern celebrity-worshiping America.

Why is it when right wing actors say something (or run for govenor, or consider a run for president) that's okay, but when it's left leaning actors they don't have a right to speak? They're anti American? Another rightwing nut double standard.

Time for me to dig into the archives and pull out a good ol' Duke Wayne movie....
Have a great Memorial Day weekend and don't forget to thank the troops. They're the only ones who know what the score is.
