'Dude, what's the rush? You will be dead a very very very long time. You are here for just a split second. Where would the world be now if Colonel Sanders offed himself when he was 45? Could you imagine not having Kentucky Fried Chicken? Forget therapy, it's a waste. If life really sucks, just start drinking or smoking weed. Do what everyone else does, get a script for Zoloft and take the edge off.
Or go to University Hospital down in Newark and look around you. You'll feel so grateful at how fantastic your life is you'll change your mind.
Better yet, go to an animal shelter and take home a cat or a dog. That will give you a reason to get up in the morning, you'll save an animals life, and you can drink the rest of the day.
People are so impatient. Just chill out, honestly I promise you, you will die soon enough and you'll really be dead for a long time.
It sounds like I'm joking or making light of your pain, but I'm not. I'm really giving you good advice. Life isn't easy, My cousin blew her brains out in the bathroom at 18, left behind a daughter....if there is an afterlife, I bet she regrets doing it. Had she just started to drink or smoke weed, or take Zoloft, she'd still be here and sooner or later she would have found something to make her happy.
And if there is reincarnation, since you didn't learn the lesson to appreciate life this time around, you will be reborn in a worse situation.
So no matter how you look at it, suicide isn't the right choice. And to think I didn't want to go for my psych degree!'

well its bad for ANYONE to commit suicide. the reasons the adds focus more on teens is because they are the ones who are doing it more these days.
why is it so bad?
well first of all, unlike all the other bad choices, like running away from home, or getting angry and yelling at ppl or hitting them, or turning to sex and drugs (which are all awful choices), but unlike those ones, there is no turning back from suicide. NO TURNING BACK. once your dead, your dead, no second chance to make things right, no changing your mind....
and its not only you that you have to think about, its the people you leave behind. The parents, friends, family, school kids, teachers, anyone who knew you and/or loved you, will be effected for the rest of there lives. so suicide is also extremely selfish.
suicide is also terrible because it is a waste of a valuable precious life. Everyone is born into a purpose, they may not know what that purpose is, they may not feel important or loved, but regardless of what they think, one thing is for sure, they werent formed in there mothers belly for nine months, and come out alive and kicking, only to not long after neck themselves without having achieved anything or even lived a good life! life is precious, the most important thing on the earth is the life of a human being. you can to mighty great things with the life you have been given, or you can waste it on drugs, alcohol, being a whore and/or killing yourself... but what a waste! Even if a person doesnt feel valued and loved by some people, they are valued and loved by God. He didnt just put us here for no reason, no He put us here all individually for a specific great purpose, a good one. Each person is so important and precious and loved, that even if you were the only person ever to be born, Jesus still would have died for you alone.
suicide is bad coz it is a waste of a life, a purpose, a valued person. it is one life stolen of its destiny.

It is bad for teens to commit suicide because it makes them DEAD! Sometimes they are in so much pain, that is the only way they can think of to end the pain. If you know someone who is talking about it, tell somebody (call the number), please, so they can get help. Iraq is different, because it is WAR. Some of the soldiers who die are still teenagers, but they chose to go into the service and already knew what the odds were. If someone is suicidal, they don't get into the service because of the chance that they'd take someone with them (which would be murder). Neither situation is good, but it is good you're questioning things and being curious. That's how good ideas are formed.

Because, Honey, teens have not even really begun to live yet. They don't realize that there is life after heart-break. They don't realize that living through emotional pain and agony makes you a stronger person and a more compassionate friend.
I think it is soooo wrong that teens are fighting in Iraq and Kuwait and the like. I am totally for the idea of sending older able bodied folk if we MUST fight a war, and give these kids a chance at life.
It is wrong for grown folk to commit suicide, too, because ending ones life is the most selfish thing that anyone can do. However, if it is someone who is hurting others and themself, I am not totally opposed to it. (My paranoid scizofrenic step-uncle murdered my grandfather and step-grandmother and then himself back in April of 1999. You may be able to read about it on the internet. They were in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. Very tragic.)

One of the founding principles of any civilized society is to value and to protect life. Even when certain nations execute criminals, it is their intent to protect the wellbeing of others. Human life is a thing of exceedingly great value.
From your question, you seem like America thinks its no big deal that people are dying in Iraq. That couldn't be further from the truth! We do everything we can to protect the lives of our soldiers while they are on the battlefield, and every loss of a soldiers life is a tragedy. (I am not endorsing the war in Iraq.)
The idea that suicide is a solution is a narrow-minded and selfish idea. A family that sees one of its members, particularly a young teenager, commit suicide, enters into a whole other world of misery. Teenagers who commit suicide seldom have a clear idea of what their future holds. They may be experiencing pain right now, but even the worst pains a human heart experiences can decrease.
There are many people alive today who have attempted suicide during a bout of depression, but today they live a happy life and are glad that they can wake up in the morning. When someone commits suicide, there is no second chance. Their life is over and it is ALWAYS a tragedy.
Every life matters. Every child. Every elderly person. Every teenager. Everyone.

Eh? Look, if someone wants to die, they're going to suicide anyway and you can't do anything about it. The only thing is, that suicide isn't solving problems, it's running away from them. It's stupid to suicide over a break-up or things like that, but, sometimes, people really feel that they're the reason for a particular problem, thus, ending their life means an end to the problem. So, it's not really selfish. It's not hypocritical either. -.-

I used to work as a psych RN in hospital psych units for over 20 years. The reason anyone kills themselves is because they have the illness, Major Depression. For whatever reason the levels of 1 or more of the chemicals in their brain has gotten too low.
This is obvious to anyone who has worked in my field because what antidepressants do is raise the levels of those chemicals. When the antidepressant is working well, the brain chemical is back to normal and the person is no longer depressed and no longer wants to commit suicide.
I also know from personal experience. My back got so bad that I was in constant pain and was not able to function hardly at all. I had surgery for this and the surgery made it worse. I had physical therapy after the surgery and the physical therapy made it worse. I am essentially in the same condition except that my wife left me after she saw that I wasn't going to get better.
I have Major Depression because of all of this and had strong urges to kill myself until I got on some antidepressants that worked. I still have some symptoms of depression but no longer have any thought of killing myself and am able to enjoy some things in life. I also see some meaning in my life and that I can be helpful to others.
To answer the question directly, it is terrible when anyone commits suicide because the reason they want to do it is a symptom of an illness that can be treated.

When kids kill themselves, it's like stopping a book after the first chapter. They never find out how their lives might have turned out. When you're young, you don't have much control over anything except your attitude. So, if things are bad, you can't do much about it. If you kill yourself then, you get to have control, but you never find out how much you could have done with yourself once you had control over things. Also, look at it this way: let's say you were going to live to age 84. Every seven years of your life would be like one month. (You understand?) So, killing yourself as a teenager is like as if you only lived through March of the year. You'd never find out how wonderful May is, or June, or July, or September or October, because dying as a teenager is like dying in March. I hope that makes sense. Just because some teens die in Iraq, it doesn't make it a good idea.

Suicide is not bad at all, it's just something most teens and adults link to because they feel there alone and no one cares. I find it's more common in teens because now a days it's so extremely hard to express yourself without some sort of judgement/reactions.
I myself considered Suicide once and wow if my friend wasn't there to catch me that day i wouldn't be here i wouldn't have my daughter and I never would have married or be here typing this message.
I consider it because My younger Brother was just taken to Jail for Child Molestation. My Mother beat on me all the time anything that ever went wrong was my fault, I was failing in school, smoking pot everyday, going to counselling taking anti-depressants and my snap point was when my teacher started to make fun of me. I remember walking to the front of the third level foyeh and climbing up on the rails ready to jump when my friend pulled me down to catch me and I just started to cry and he cried with me and then i realized he cared for me I went and got some serious help moved away from my mom and here I am way better then I have ever been and not a thought of that in my mind but I Understand it's such a hard thing to go through I've lost 6 friends to suicide

There aren't really TEENS in Iraq getting killed, though they are very young. Generally, when young people commit suicide, it is just a shame because they had a whole lot of life to live.
